I will soon have my hands on my recently ordered 9" xcr mini. as far as optics go, what would you all recommend? i dont like the eotech holo sight as it is too bulky for my taste.
would an acog be useless on it?

You think the Eotech is bulky, but want to put an ACOG on there? Sounds like you might want one of the mini red dots. |

the eotech is bulky just to be a red dot. i had an m68 when i was deployed and never understood why everyone wanted the eotech so bad. i used to have an acog on my ar before i had to sell them for an engagement ring  and would love another. just dont know how the 9" barrel will perform. i already have a small cmore red dot i plan to mount on it temporarily |

The EOTech XPS2-0 or 3-0 is not bulky for an UZI carbine (21") submachine gun, so it might work for your 9" barrel miniXCR. I think the Leupold Mark IV tactical sights have a better reticle, but they are as long as the EOTech sight you apparently used.

It might be a little overkill, and ACOG's aren't exactly cheap. I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. |

I'd go with a red dot. H1 Micro. If you want to throw a magnifier on it, so be it. |

Put a T-1 Micro and GGG mount on mine. Nice set up so far....though I think a wider FOV would be nice from an M3/M4s.  Need to take some new pics....changed a few things on the rifle. Sean |

Hey Sean, that looks like an awesome cheek riser. Who makes that if you do not mind me asking and do you know if that will work on a Magpul CTR stock?

Ya, I made it myself and no, it wouldn't fit a CTR.....but you can buy a 1/4", 1/2" or 3/4" cheek riser from Magpul for the CTR so if you want one, you can get one for around $20. Any one heard any new news on the "new" stock? I can't believe the rumor that RA is waiting to finish the -M before releasing the stock. Sounds absolutely idiotic if true and Alex is smarter than that IMO. Sean |
