I don't see the resemblance, personally. To me, the visual descendent of the MP-44 is the AK-47.

.errr... because it's a gun, has a pistol grip and removeable magazine. Otherwise it's you.

It takes only a few minutes of research on the internet to sound like a combat soldier and a few dollars to look like one, but it takes a little blood and a lot of guts to be one.

No, I personally think it looks more like a G3 or FAL than a StG44.

It sorta has the feel of an HK 93 in my opinion.

Looks more like a FNC than a FAL or G3

The silhouette of the XCR resembles the StG-44 to me

It's in a class by itself.

M16 (original) and the AK47 have distinct silhouettes.

As the XCR is an amalgamation of FAL and AK as well as the modern rail system, it is unique, though distinctive its not got that grab you silhouette.   (internals are truly unique and look very much like themselves)

Upshot is, all guns of that sort have a similar silhouette, doesn't mean they look like anything else, unless you want to include all buns of that type.

Agree with some of the posts above. Visually the XCR most reminds me of a fatter, stubbier FAL. Not saying that the XCR is ugly; it's just that the FAL is such a sleek rifle. I see the FAL's influence on the XCR in the skeleton buttstock (FAL paratrooper), charging handle, and the vent holes in the upper portion of the hand guard.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things.  The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.  The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself
