Here's some pics of my Micro.  I had a custom long flash hider made to bring the barrel to 16.1 inches and had it silver soldered on.

It didn't change the weight or balance enough to tell but it is a lot less blasty, even though it is closer to my face now.

The slots in the hider are 3 inches long.  I need to see what it is like at night.

It should be about as short and light as you can get without going NFA.  I'd like to see a 16 inch super light barrel for this configuration so as not to suffer a velocity decrease.

Great pictures.  Thanks for sharing.  So what is your actual barrel length without the flash hider?

Nice!  Those long flash hider slots makes me think of an FAL.

Not bad, doesn't look nearly as funny as I thought it would.

Why didn't you go 13 inch barrel and a 3 inch FAL FH? same look, but more barrel. I think your set up looks sweet, infact it is actually pretty cool  Wink

That setup looks like the ticket for someone that wants a SBR micro eventually or wants to shoot the micro while waiting on the paperwork with the ATF to go through.

If there was a 13 inch barrel available for the micro, I would have, as I would like more rifling in this combo.  It lets me enjoy the pistol as a rifle until paperwork starts coming in for an SBR.  My C&R is coming up on 6-7 weeks so far.  I was under the impression that a C&R was faster than a form 4.

Once my C&R comes back, I think my first form 4 will be on my DSA TP9.

my, my. It certainly looks awesome. it may be overgassed now, though, since you added that much length. If you need a smaller dial let me know.

Martens - would you recommend the 7.5? How do you like it? Sounds like you don't like the violence or "blastinees" of the 7.5. Does it function well? If you could do it over would you go a little longer?

I am in the market SBR XCR and am torn between a 10" Mini or the 7.5" Micro. I would love some more detailed feedback. Thanks.

I don't mind the blast of the 7.5 inch barrel.  Trying to hold it about were it would sit with the stock, it seemed less blasty than a 10.5 inch AR.  I've got my Form 1 sent off and anxiously await getting it back.  Then the long FH will come off.  I wanted short if I was going the SBR route and am quite happy with the 7.5.  I've got other rifles when I want or need distance.

If I was to have one rifle, I would look at 10.5 to 12.5 so you have some velocity for distance.  I guess it all depends on your needs/wants.
