Found a guy locally that was moving and needed to get rid of some Ammo. I figured it was going to be a case of wolf, but when I met up with the guy i saw that it was Norinco lead core rounds. Needless to say I was very happy with the score. Can't beat 1200 rnds for about what hlaf a case of wolf costs.

DUDE, that beats my 308 chink ammo score last weekend!!!  I got 720 rounds of steel case lead core norinco for $.30 per round.  Chrono'ed it and it's fairly consistent at 2705 FPS.  That'll be my 308 training ammo for this year (plus some other misc stuff I got laying around)

You cant beat this deal tho....  I picked up 120 rounds in the original box of 223 53gr Corbon DPX ammo for.... get this... $8 a box!!!!

Yup $175 for 1200 rounds was a steal. Great job on your .308 ammo score too!

As long as it's not that copper wash crap they used to sell, that's a pretty sweet deal.

My 308 was the copper wash stuff.  I ran about 150 rounds thru a fulton M14 and it ran flawlessly.  The chronograph says it is very consistent and it shot accurately as well.  I dont know why it would be "crap", it seems to do everything I need from a load!!

as to the 762x39, the Ak eats that stuff as part of it's wholesome regular diet.  In fact the guys who I have talked to claim that the norinco stuff is actually fairly accurate as well.  I shot some with the 308 opn that range trip and it ran great for me.  good velocities and functioned well in an SKS.

copper wash is good stuff in my book Smiley

In the past I've had some of both, and it was some of the shittiest ammo I've ever had.  Waaay underpowered, bullets and primers not seated right, you name it.  The .308 was the worst.

If your stuff was good that's awesome, I just haven't had good results in the past.

crap or not. If it goes bang every time I think its a great deal . Especially since wolf is $350 for 1000 here.

I have seen some cracked case mouths in the 762x39, but that wouldnt stop me from shooting it thru an AK.

I have 2 different lots of the 308 from the early 90's some of it had some crud on the cases, and they chronoed slightly different from year to year NBD.  I physically emptied all the boxed into a can, and didnt notice any other issues than the crud on a few.  Time will tell.

I beleive that there were several different manufacturers of the chinese stuff.  IME the norinco has been the better looking of the stuff I've seen, whereas the milspec has looked a bit more ratty.

I found a couple rounds of that .308 I still had stashed in a corner, they're stamped in two places, one side has '19' and the other '92'.  1992, year of manufacture?  One of the rounds even has a nice indentation from my FAL in the primer where it failed to fire.
