Is the screw model chosen to break before the receiver or barrel extension?  Should I be worried about these issue?

I'm pretty sure you're the first person this has happened to. Unless you screwed up the helicoil I don't think you'll need to worry about this again now that you've learned.

Oh, and take the 3 foot extension pipe off the end of your wrench. Smiley

 Tongue It's just the handle that's 2 feet long.  I wish I could spend as much time on the range than I spend in the gym!

Would you believe I did it on purpose for the benefit of the members?   Roll Eyes

It's happened once before. Same situation. You guys don't realize how powerful those torque wrenches can be...


That said, that extension is incredibly tough. The bolt is gonna break before the extension.
