I am thinking about getting either a 6.8 or 7.62x39 conversion kit. Can someone post a picture of a target with the best 6.8 grouping @ 100m or 200m?
I would like more of a precision rig and right now the 6.8 is the only real contender (b/c the 6.5 isn't available... yet) Can I build a precision weapon on the XCR platform using 6.8 and a 16" bbl?
Also, what are the magazines for 6.8?

I purchased 14 C-Products mags for my 6.8 and they have been 100% reliable. I have loaded all 25 rounds in each. SheepDog

Since CP's are a third of the cost of the other choices (Barret, PRI, and now a 10 & 15 rounders by ProMag) start with them first.
Barrett's are built like a tank but you pay for it - get one or two for whatever.
IMO stay away from PRI as they are having serious QC issues right now and you have a good chance of getting a defective mag and having to deal with warranty support.
I have not tried the ProMags but their reputation is not good in 5.56 and they seem pricey for 10 and 15 rounders.
As far as accuracy, I use a 5MOA red dot so I am not the guy to ask. 3 inch groups at 100 yards on paper are normal for me off the bench, so take that for what it is worth (I am no trigger man, so I am satisfied). With the new trigger and that Millet DMS-1 I will be getting soon I hope to actually test the accuracy of this rifle...

DMS-1 looks interesting. Couldn't find any real reviews...tell me about it. What mount are you planning on using?

There is a mega thread on ARFCOM about it: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=326527&page=5Also, I started a thread on it in general discussion on this board a while back. I was going to go with the mount SWFA packages with it: http://swfa.com/Millett-1-4x24-DMS-SSALT-Combo-P42148.aspxI like the price and most users report it does hold up to use, but it bit on the heavy side...

The best I've been able to achieve is 1" at 100 yds using handloaded Hornady 115gr OTM and an ACOG with the old trigger. Sadly, Hornady discontinued selling that bullet to the public, I suspect, because Remington was complaining. I haven't had the ACOG back on my gun since I installed the new trigger, and I simply don't want to use up any more of these precious rounds. I suspect with the new trigger and the ACOG groups would drop down to about 3/4 MOA. A good factory load to try would be Silver State Armory's 115gr Sierra Matchking OTM.

Didn't know that they had discontinued that bullet. Glad I stocked up on them when I had the chance.

AZ, Yup, Hornady sells the bullet to Remington for their OTM. Remington ammo is very downloaded. I'm halfway tempted to buy Remingtom OTM just for the projectile. Hornady now makes their HPBT/WC in 110 gr only. I might give it a try but I would have to start over from scratch to get new load data. Bummer.

I have close to 5K of the 115gr OTMs out in the garage. They will get loaded one of these days...

Anyone have some paper to throw up here showing groups, 200 yd/m if possible, Looking at getting a 6.8 and if the XCR with a 16" bbl gets it done, its got my buy. Until the 6.5 surfaces I'll keep 7.62x51 for a long gun, but a 6.8 putting nice groups at 400m would be a wonderful addition, and the XCR is gonna be 200-300 cheaper than a LWRC or POF all said and done

Wish I had saved the targets from my recent range trip. Shot several 5-shot groups that were right at an inch on a fairly windy day. XCR with 16" 6.8 bbl using SSA 90 gr Speer TNTs and 115 GR OTM's. Very happy with the TA33R-9 on this rifle, too.
