BEST. QUOTE. EVER.

I always say this at work.....everyone cracks up.  We even pull up the youtube clip from time to time.

That movie is chock full of cool quotes.....like the answer to the "riddle of steel".

I love this sword.  Like I said I was searching for the past 2 years and found one in Los Angeles Kalifornia from a Collector who is in some bad times right now.  I feel bad for him but his loss it my gain. Smiley  I wanted this sword since I first saw the movie.  And when Albion came out with them in early 2000's I wanted one so bad but I was a poor student back then but now I can certainly can afford it.

I was telling a good buddy that if I were threatened by a sword I would be more afraid of it then even a rifle.

Conan dominates.  I have a lot of the books and a sizable chunk of "barbarian" comics as well.  they are the only one I could not bring myself to sell, as they were an awesome story, and will still be entertaining when i choose to read them in the future.

how is the construction of the sword?  is it a properly well made sword that could stand up to some whacking or is it mostly decorative?

Its made by Albion swords, Albion-swords.com and they ceased making them in early 07 and will never make them again.  It is a battle ready sword of the highest quality (althought rather heavy) not some cheap stainless steel piece of junk.

LOL it would be funny to see me in a loincloth with that sword.  I am going to have to hit the gym a bit before I take any pictures of that. Cheesy

Albion took over making these when Jody Samson, the original designer and bladesmith of the Atlantean sword, died recently. That is a good, quality sword. A bit big and heavy to be practical, but unique and something that will be priceless to you for many years. I salute you on your choice.

Albion makes some really nice stuff. The reproductions swords are pretty close to what real swords were (and should be) for their periods. They're definately worth checking out if you like edged weapons.

I recall that when Samson was doing the original repros of the Atlantean and Father sword, one of them (can't recall which) was going for 10K.   Shocked

Beautiful swords.  I've always wanted one...

Yup this one is from 2002 and the blade work was done by Jody Samson, some of the other work was done by a few select other particular trades people at Albion.  I have the certificate with all their signatures on it.  I remember too there was a limited edition of 10 swords that went for 10k.  Albion did 4 batches of these swords, the version I have, the Destroyer version with leather grip and slightly longer blade and a small run without the certificate of authenticity that were considerably cheaper around 2k.  The 10k ones I believe were completely constructed by Jody Samson and the hilt and grip was made of bronze instead of brass as the rest were.  This ran around 2500 when they were first introduced but were 3000 by the time they stopped production in 2007.  I payed buddy only slightly more than he paid for it due to shipping from CA to Canada.
