M855 green tip are not AP rounds. They have a lead core with a steel penetrator and can be stopped by most Lv3 body armor. They are sort of like enhanced penetration FMJ rounds or semi-armor piercing rounds. M995 black tip is a true AP round, has a tungsten core and can defeat Lv4 body armor or a 12mm thick HB300 steel plate at 100m.
