Can someone make this a sticky? I really could have used those instructions when I was trying to put my kit on.

Great Instructions!

Probably a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway. I have had a few light primer strikes in some SSA 6.8 ammo with my Bill Springfield trigger job. Would going to the heavy hammer spring change the trigger action? I like the light break more single stage style of the trigger but would like my ammo to go boom when I pull the trigger.

P.S. I'm also interested in the new match trigger when it comes out. I understand these will all have the heavy hammer spring. Correct?

Sometimes during a trigger job the hammer spring is bent (the two legs) to make the trigger pull lighter, when that is done it can cause failures to ignite hard primered ammo(Russian usually). If the legs are bent somewhat, straighten them out and it should make the light strikes go away.Sometimes a weaker(usually yellow)spring is used to replace the hammer spring. It's a match spring and is also too light to ignite hard primers. If you use the grip screw mod,it will negate the heaviest spring because it prestages the trigger and gives you a single stage pull.

yeah youtube is great, but the trigger is really not that complicated though.   but it can get tricky if you have never seen it before, or do not regularly work on it.

I have found that this this one schematic and these pics by aziator is all I need to get me back on track.

+1, but I had a hard time finding it, thats why I'd like a sticky Smiley I installed my spring upside down on the first attempt, didn't work so well.

Thanks. I'll look at the hammer springs legs. I have a standard spring and have never had a problem with it in 5.56 mode.

I just did this for my x39 kit... the only tough part was seeing that little hole for the cotter pin.  My old eyes had a hard time of it... in the end I used the cotter pin to "feel" for the hole.. then press.  Took all of 5 minutes to slap the kit on.

I don't think Terras hands are that big but I did notice she has unnaturally clean hands and fingernails for someone who works on guns.  Cheesy

Go to Wal-mart and buy a 100 pack of vinyl gloves. That's what I use when painting parts or applying stock finish, but now I use them to clean guns, because the cleaning solutions make your hands stink even after you wash them and the carbon and lead/copper fouling can be a bitch to get off.It saves a lot of time washing your hands and they don't dry out and crack from the caustic chemicals.

I'm a very neat person. I usually don't even need a napkin at meals. It drives Mike crazy. He, like all men, is a dirt magnet  Evil

I've gone the gloves route and they always tear. Plus, sometimes I'm working on them for quite a long time, 6-8 hours and the hands just dont get enough air.
