sling adaptor for lower tube of tube stock

Does anybody make one?  The FAL uses the same style of stock but I can't find one for the FAL either.  A clamp with a T-hook can't be that hard to make...

I've used the old leather military shooting slings ever since my dad showed me how they worked when I was a kid.  But I can't figure out how to put one on my Para FAL or XCR.  I won't have have the XCR till late Jan, but two slingless rifles are two too many.

If worse comes to worse I can put picatinny sling adapters on both ends of the lower rail and mount the front end of a Ching Sling to them, but it would be nice to have a sling that can do both carry and shooting duties.

You should be able to drill/tap a hole in the buttstock and use an Uncle Mike's stud and swivel.

I use and and love it.  My feedback created the shorter offering but I haven't had a change to try it out.

There's another way to do that - the way I did.

If you run a mill (or know someone that does), you can cut a slot in the toe of the stock.
Then you can pull the stock attachment point from the buttstock of an M16A2 (that's just laying around!) and fit that in.

Now, with the rubber buttpad removed, a hole can be drilled in from the rear. That's going to be the hole a screw goes in to mimic the way the stock attachment point secures in the M16 stock.

All you need now is a short screw to do it with. I had to buy 100, since that's the smallest bag available. Let me know if you want one.

The machinist also gave me some super-duty epoxy. He said I ought to goop up the slot, and make everything "permanent". Since the rear of the sling doesn't carry much weight, I haven't epoxied mine yet. Does well.

I also thought about doing the drill-and-tap thing that M118SB mentioned. My machinist recommended against it, 'cause he said the material there isn't all that thick. I don't see how it would be different if you gooped it up heavily with epoxy - but I'm no machinist.

I finally got my XCR today, and thankfully the new sling socket in the buttstock neatly solves the problem.
