I like that. The cheek riser really fits with the XCR's profile.
I'm not sure if it would be perfect. I had to shrink the stock's image slightly to get it to fit. I also cut off the hinge that would allow it to fold. The SCAR stock would be sweet though if it fit.

The style works well and the cheek riser resolves the issue of the standard stock being too low for regular iron sights mounted on the rail. The image, irrespective of doctoring, shows the potential of the rifle/stock combination.

I like the stock on the Bushmaster/Remington/Magpul ACR http://www.remingtonmilitary.com/acr.htmI hope RA can hang with the new ACR, they have been working on that rifle for years very secretly. Only VIPs have had any real range time with it.

And VIPs only will *continue* to have range time with it.... not hard to "hang with" something that doesn't exist. My XCR has been shooting better than my ACR the whole time I've owned it... no contest.

at this point, instead of waiting, getting the magpul UBR with a cheek riser would be a great option (I will probably do it unless the stock is released soon...)

This has been in the works for well over a year. Can anyone enlighten us if this new stock will ever become reality?
Thanks

If you're waiting to buy a rifle, well, I wouldn't wait. Pick one up now and then when the new stock comes out you can swap, or sell the other one off to recoup some of the cost. If you've already got a rifle, then just go out and shoot it while you're waiting!

The XCR works well as it is. It's not worth waiting for the stock to come out before purchasing one.

They've said they will offer an adapter. Makes sense, you'll sell more new stocks if you don't just have to trash the old one. I'll probably get one of the new stocks to see how I like it and put the old one on an AK or something.

I was initially excited, but to be honest the regular stock with a cheek pad works fine. I'll wait until the new stock has been out awhile and is in general circulation before I consider buying one. The excitement has worn off and I doubt it'll be better for me that the current stock.

Last I spoke to Alex he was trying to slim the stock down. He had a finalized version then decided to try and make it slimmer. It will fit both the current XCR and the M. I would expect it to release around the same time as the M.

You have many options today. Fixed, folding, and any variation of AR type stock that can fit.

When was that? I honestly don't think they have the manufacturing capabilities. I wish they would prove me wrong.

You are correct, They also need to solicit for builders to keep the price reasonable. I would be perfectly happy with the stock Alex showed me but he still wants to refine it.

Getting the Troy stubbies and shooting with the correspondingly correct optic mount to match really changes the shooter profile on the XCR with the factory folder. It's really that different, or at least it was for me. I'm still interested in the new stock from a curiousity standpoint and to see what all the hub-bub has been about for the past few years, but, the original stock does the job just fine, is stupid simple, and tough.

Ditto. I thought the prototype looked great. I'd be happy with it, but then, I'm not a 'fussy' kind of guy: as long as the sights line up for me (no lifting of the head), it's durable, there's sling attachment points at roughly the right position, doesn't slap my cheek when I fire (not a problem with the 5.56, and probably won't be for the 7.62 NATO either) and the length of pull isn't too long for me, I'm pretty much happy.
